Air Deccan commence operation under Udaan Scheme

To promote the air travel demand in smaller cities, After a decade Air Deccan flag off its first flight from Mumbai to Jalgaon in northern Maharashtra under the regional air connectivity scheme UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) commuter operator (SCO) permit. Air Deccan started its service in August 2003 but in 2007 company merged with the Kingfisher Airlines who stopped its operation in 2008 due to looses.
