46,100 Indians have obtained US citizenship in the year 2016 which is only second to the Mexicans. A report says that the number of pending applications has increased 77% compared to the previous years. 6% of the total citizenship conferred in the US are of Indians. Even though there’s a slight decline in the number of US citizenship being granted, the number of applications increase every year.
