With 969 flights take off and landing in 24 hours, Mumbai airport has created a new world record on Friday, breaking its own record of handling 935 flights in a single day and on a single runway. Mega-cities like Delhi, Dubai or New York have multiple runways so that multiple flights can take off or land simultaneously. Mumbai has two runways that are crisscrossing runways and only one can be used at a time.
