WhatsApp claims surveillance company used US-based servers to spy on users

Last year WhatsApp had fixed a loophole cybercriminals used to install spyware on smartphones by ringing the victim’s phone. It didn’t require users to answer the calls. In October, the attack was blamed on Israeli spyware developer NSO Group, known as Q Cyber Technologies. Now, Facebook which owns WhatsApp has claimed US-based servers were used by the NSO Group to target WhatsApp users using Pegasus software.
