WhatsApp bans over 72 Lakh bad accounts in India in July 2023

Meta-owned WhatsApp banned a record of over 72 lakh bad accounts in India in the month of July, in compliance with the new IT Rules 2021. Between July 1-31, "72,28,000 WhatsApp accounts were banned. 31,08,000 of these accounts were proactively banned, before any reports from users", WhatsApp said in its monthly compliance report.
