"Was preventing them from bullying": TikTok clarifies after disabling disabled users' accounts

Chinese company ByteDance-owned short video-sharing app has admitted that it disabled the accounts of disabled users and took down the content produced by disabled users deliberately. The firm said it took the step to prevent the users from becoming victims of bullying. Disability rights campaigners termed the strategy "bizarre". Such users were susceptible to bullying or harassment based on their physical or mental condition".
