India's maiden attempt to soft-land on Moon's south pole failed last Sept & months later ISRO has admitted that Vikram 'crash-landed' near the south pole of the moon due to a velocity glitch. ISRO chief admitted that velocity reduction was more than it should have been and as the descent was on the auto mode, the system was not designed to factor the deviation. So, Vikram hard landed within 500m of the designated landing site.
