The UAE is trying to install water generators that capture moisture from the air and turn it into drinkable water for anyone. For the time being, the technology is being tested as a pilot project, but if successful, it will be used in Masdar, a sustainable city being created near to the Abu Dhabi airport. The aforementioned city is powered by a 54-acre field with 87,777 solar panels, as well as additional panels on building roofs.
