A significant UK trial to experiment whether specialist medical sniffer dogs can detect coronavirus in humans is about to start. The dogs have already been trained to detect odours of specific cancers, malaria and Parkinson's disease by the charity Medical Detection Dogs. The first phase of the trial will be initiated by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, partnering with the charity and Durham University.
