This week, NASA's golden-mirrored James Webb Space Telescope passed a critical assessment, a key step toward the observatory's launch later this year. Last month, the telescope, which has been looking into the universe for almost 30 years, was offline for a few days. Initial indications pointed to a failing computer memory module as the root of the problem, according to NASA. The payload computer's technology was last replaced in 2009.
