Telegram's userbase crosses 1 billion-mark, highest number of users in India

Messaging platform Telegram, a key rival of Facebook-owned Whatsapp, has clocked over 1 billion users globally. India has played a huge role in helping the platform achieve the feat as nearly 22 percent of the app's total downloads come from India. In terms of the number of users, India is the largest market for Telegram. According to the Sensor Tower report, Indonesia and Russia are 2nd and 3rd in terms of the number of users.
