MIT scientists recently created a hybrid bionic heart form a dead pig's organ and this could put an end to the animal testing practice. The organ was stripped of its natural outer muscle and covered in a synthetic sleeve to simulate the electrical stimulation. Scientists believe it might see the end of animals being used in testing of cardiac devices like pacemakers and defibrillators or testing artificial valves.
