Astronomers from the US and Australia have found a missing link 'cosmic yeti' galaxy. The light from the galaxy took approximately 12.5 billion years to reach Earth. The elusive 'missing link' galaxy was spotted by Christina Williams during her observations from ALMA, Chile. The light seemed mysterious as it wasn't coming from any known galaxy. Such massive galaxies are long-rumoured, hence they were named 'yeti'.
