Rolls-Royce, Siemens and Airbus to make hybrid electric Aircraft

Rolls-Royce, Siemens, and Airbus are coming together to make a hybrid electric aircraft- E-Fan X that is scheduled to fly sometime in 2020. When it comes to purely electric aircrafts, things haven’t reached an advanced stage yet. These trio is hoping that E-Fan X will become a useful commercial single-aisle aircraft in near future. Hybrid Jumbo jets are still a dream but E-Fan X could be used for short rides.
