Europe's top court has ruled in favour of Google in the landmark “right to be forgotten” case. The court said that Google does not have to apply a previous ruling by the court about complying with requests to remove online links, limiting “de-referencing” to just EU domains. This ruling has prevented the 28-member EU from acquiring unprecedented powers to regulate Google and overall the internet beyond its borders.
