Phone spear-phishing attack on employees led to breach, revealed Twitter

Twitter, whose internal systems were breached about two weeks ago, said on Thursday the incident targeted a small number of employees through a phone spear-phishing attack. In the attack the hackers targeted about 130 accounts which included high profile personalities like Elon Musk and Bill Gates to promote a Bitcoin scam. Hackers were also able to download data of 8 accounts, however, no password were stolen.
