NPCI bars Truecaller from adding new users on UPI platform

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has barred Truecaller for breaching data, in which thousands of users were registered to the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) account without their consent. After a bug was noticed, the NPCI stopped Truecaller from onboarding user addition services on the UPI platform. The matter at the moment is still being investigated. Truecaller has apologized after acknowledging the bug.
