Nigeria to partner with Bitt to launch its own cryptocurrency 'eNaira'

Nigeria's Central Bank announced it has joined hands with Bitt to launch its own cryptocurrency called "eNaira". Bitt will help Nigeria build its own cryptocurrency while playing the role of a technical partner. The decision comes months after Nigeria barred banks and financial institutions from facilitating cryptocurrency transactions. According to Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele, eNaira would accelerate financial inclusions.
