NASA's Curiosity Rover has been lingering around Mars since Aug 2012 and now it made a discovery that has left the scientists baffled. It uncovered an unexpected seasonal variation of oxygen on Mars. Oxygen levels go up and down apparently, showing significant seasonal & interannual variability and they don't know why yet. Some time ago, Curiosity found that methane spikes at odds with a seasonal cycle on the Red planet.
