American space agency NASA is planning to send a mobile robot to the South pole region of the Moon to map water ice on the surface, in 2022. The agency will try to get a closer view of the water ice and sample it for the first time. It is a golf-cart-size robot called Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover, or VIPER.
