NASA researchers have watched a massive Blackhole shredding a star apart in a tidal disruption event. This is the first time such an event was witnessed by NASA as tidal disruptions are incredibly rare and only occurs once every 10,000 to 100,000 years in a galaxy the size of Milky Way. Only 40 such events have been observed so far as this time they have identified it quickly to be able to follow it up the next few days.
