Astronomers have claimed to have calculated the mass of the Milky way galaxy accurately for the first time. They have used a new data set that has included the weight of the dark matter. The previous estimate was ranging between 500 billion to 3 trillion times the mass of the sun. The new estimate says the galaxy is to be around 1.5 trillion solar masses. The team measured the velocity of the clusters to reach to this.
