Malaysia became the alternate destination, dumping ground for the world's plastic waste after China banned imports of such waste, disrupting the flow of more than 7 million tonnes of plastic scrap a year. Now Malaysia will send back non-recyclable plastic scrap to developed countries that sent it there. Most of them coming into the country is contaminated & low-quality scrap & residents complain of environmental damage.
