While reviewing some of his previously acquired telescopic photos, an amateur astronomer found an undiscovered moon circling Jupiter, our solar system's biggest planet, for the first time ever. The discovery was found by Ly, an amateur astronomer while searching the internet for a dataset from 2003 gathered by researchers from the University of Hawaii using the 3.6-meter Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope.
