When Japan football league finally starts next month, it will be without supporters. But a new smartphone app could mean play to continue with full cheer. The Remote Cheerer system created by Japanese firm Yamaha will allow fans watching the match on TV, radio, or online to encourage – or berate – footballers via their smartphones. Their voices will reverberate around the stadium in realtime via loudspeakers.
