Instagram asking new users to provide date of birth

Instagram wants its members at least 13 years old, but it didn’t have a protocol to activate this parameter until now. All new users will now have to provide a date of birth when creating an Insta account but it won’t be visible on profiles. Users will see it while accessing their own page. The new feature is Instagram’s attempt to better protect young users and deliver a more age-appropriate experience overall.
