The most detailed pictures of sun have been captured by the Inouye Solar Telescope in Hawaii. The striking images reveal a surprising level of structure hidden within the churning plasma exterior bringing the earlier hazy images into sharp focus for the 1st time. The telescope's 30 km resolution is more than twice that of the best solar observatories. The images show the surface of sun to be covered with granular structures.
