India picks Russia to select & train astronauts for Gaganyaan mission

ISRO signs agreement with Russia to get its astronauts for Gaganyaan mission trained in Russia despite other countries such as the US, France being considered. ISRO Chairman said they were most likely to pick Russia given their previous experiences. Russia took Rakesh Sharma to space and even the IAM under the IAF has worked with Russia. Rakesh Sharma was also of the opinion to go with Russia as it has been tried & tested.
