India becomes second-largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world: Ravi Shankar Prasad

Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that with over 200 mobile phone manufacturing units set up in the country in the past five years, India has emerged as the second-largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world. India exported 36 million units of smartphones in Fiscal Year 2020 as compared to 17 million units in Fiscal Year 2019 which means a 111.76 per cent growth.
