In a first, Moon’s geology revealed in greater detail

The entire Lunar surface has been mapped for the first time, leading the way for the safer Moon landing in the future. The scientists from the USGS Astrogeology science center, in collaboration with NASA, have produced the map of the Moon, which is a culmination of decades of work. Different colors have been used to produce a unified description of the rock layers on the Moon. This will help in future Moon landings.
