IISER Pune physicists design low-cost ventilator in 18 days amid coronavirus outbreak

Two scientists from the Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research (IISER), Pune, have developed a low-cost ventilator in less than three weeks. Physicists Umakant Rapol and Sunil Nair said they were inspired by the Bharucha ventilator and decided to develop a sophisticated ventilator that can be helpful to coronavirus patients. The prototype is based on ventilator designs of the Mechanical Ventilator Milano.
