Tech giant Google has been sued by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for misleading consumers about the expanded use of personal data for targeted advertising. According to a lawsuit filed by the ACCC, the tech giant neither got consent nor did inform the users about a 2016 move to combine personal information in Google accounts with activities on non-Google websites that use its technology.
