Google may acquire TikTok rival Firework

Google is set to acquire Firework, an application which allows users to make and share short format 30-second videos. The acquisition may now help Google in its tough competition with TikTok, the popular free short-form video app which has more than 500 million monthly users worldwide. Firework created by former SnapChat and LinkedIn employees targets old users, unlike TikTok’s focus on younger generation.
