Global energy emissions will fall to a record 8% in 2020 due to COVID-19: IEA

The International Energy Agency said that coronavirus is presumed to cause global emissions will drop to a record 8% this year due to an unprecedented drop in demand for coal, oil & gas. It has been forecasted that global energy demand will fall 6% in 2020, 7 times more than during 2008 financial crisis; this will be equal to losing the entire energy demand of India. The IEA said its a historic shock to the entire energy world.
