According to the planetary geophysicists at the German Aerospace Center, led by Maxime Maurice, the Earth's natural satellite moon is 85 million years younger than originally thought. According to the earlier calculations, the moon is said to be 4.51 billion years old. “According to our calculations, the young Earth was hit by a protoplanet some 140 million years after the birth of the solar system," the scientists said.
