The popular short video app TikTok has registered a sharp fall in downloads globally in July after facing a blanket ban in India, the largest market for the Bytedance-owned company outside China. TikTok’s download numbers diminished by 25% from 87 million in June to 65.2 million in July according to Sensor Tower data. India, which was the top contributor with 18.8% share in TikTok’s overall downloads in June was replaced by the USA in July.
