Internal documents from social media giant Facebook have revealed that the firm was well aware of hate speech being spread on its platform in India but did not take steps to curb it. "Rumors and calls to violence spread particularly on Facebook's WhatsApp messaging service in late February 2020," a Wall Street Journal report read. A former insider said they saw "more images of dead people in the past 3 weeks" than in entire life.
