Facebook launches its digital currency Libra despite criticism

Facebook has started the proceedings to launch its digital currency called 'Libra' from Monday, despite intense criticism from US regulators and politicians. The organization governing the currency, the Libra Association, officially signed on 21 charter members on Monday at the organization's inaugural meeting in Geneva. Uber, Lyft, Spotify and telecommunications company Vodafone are some of the major members of the association.
