European Space Agency has successfully launched the JUICE (Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer) mission, which will probe Jupiter and three of its moons—Europa, Callisto, and Ganymede. The spacecraft took off from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, aboard an Ariane 5 rocket. The mission was originally scheduled to launch yesterday but was postponed owing to lightning risk.
