An Environment Ministry official Anuradha Singh said that roughly 30% of India's land is degraded and a voluntary target for land degradation neutrality is underway. She added, 'we are committed to addressing this challenge and the voluntary target setting should conclude over the next few months.' The most effective principle of degraded area development is the conservation and efficient use of natural resources.
