Almost three years after Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the solar roof shingles as part of his dream project of buying SolarCity, the automaker has now announced it’s finally made a version of the tiles can go for full-scale production. The sleek roof is key to Tesla’s ongoing campaign to revive its struggling solar business. The photovoltaic tiles resemble regular shingles, instead of solar panels atop a roof.
