DPIIT proposes Aug 1 deadline for Etailers to display ‘Country Of Origin’

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has suggested August 1 as the deadline for e-commerce companies to start displaying the ‘country of origin’ information for products listed on their website. The discussion takes place amid anti-China sentiments after border clashes between the two countries in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley last month. On June 29, India banned 59 Chinese apps citing threats to data security.
