Data privacy Global Index, India ranks at 3rd worst

In terms of privacy and online surveillance, India is the 3rd worst country and only Russia and China are worse than India. The survey was conducted based on constitutional protection, biometrics, data sharing, privacy enforcement etc and India is among the top 3 surveillance states in the world. India scored 2.4 out of 5 that indicates a systematic failure to maintain data privacy safeguards, according to the report.
