Cyclone Fani: IMD has sent 65 lakh SMS to warn people in Eastern & Southern India

The IMD sent nearly 65 lakh messages to the people in Eastern & Southern India, gave them updates about CYclone Fani. As per the report sent to Union govt, IMD sent over 59 lakh messages to the farmers of AP, TN, Odisha, Assam, W Bengal & Puducherry advising them to take precautionary measures; some messages were sent in local languages too. The SMS read-Keep the animals & poultry birds in safe places. Postpone harvesting.
