Cognizant to spend Rs. 2.7 crore to restore one of India's last natural marshlands in Chennai

Tech giant Cognizant has decided to restore one of the last natural marshlands in the country- the Pallikaranai Wetland that is situated in Chennai. The tech firm has joined hands with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), The Nature Conservatory, Grundfos and Care Earth Trust and will spend nearly Rs. 2.7 crore to restore the Sembakkam Lake in Chennai. The lake once had nearly 7 million litres of freshwater.
