China’s semiconductor output shrinks to 2020 level as COVID-19 lockdowns disrupt production

China has suffered a major setback as its semiconductor output shrank 12.1 per cent to 25.9 billion units in April, its lowest since December 2020, the media reported on Monday. According to the Shanghai Automobile Dealers Association, not a single vehicle was sold for the whole month of April while in the normal course, about 4,000 vehicles are sold daily in the city.
