Apple patents 'bendable' laptop design

Apple has filed a patent for an experimental new bendable laptop design that would be made from a single piece of material. It’s a 'planar hinge assembly' to bend smoothly like a stack of papers instead of the rigid mechanical hinge design we see in most existing laptops. The new design would be made possible by a stack of thin bendable layers, each of which would host connections between components on either side.
