IIT Roorkee scientists have created India's first earthquake early warning app, named "Uttarakhand Bhookamp Alert," to alert inhabitants of impending earthquakes in their area. The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority provided funding for the project (USDMA). The app is the first of its type in India, as it warns users about earthquakes in advance, while also identifying those trapped beneath buildings.
