56% of Indians fall prey to discount scams: McAfee

According to a new survey released on Tuesday by cybersecurity company McAfee, around 56% of Indians were victims of discount scams, while 28.6% lost ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 as a result of fake online retail sites. As per the survey titled ‘A Christmas Carol: Scam Edition’, 35.4% of Indians confessed to have been conned by year-end festivities and discount scams, where a malicious file was downloaded onto their device.
