World chess body postpones Olympiad to 2021

The governing body of chess FIDE has decided to postpone the Olympiad, scheduled to take place between August 5 and 17 in Moscow, to 2021 summer because of COVID-19 pandemic. The decision came after the Tokyo 2020 Games were also postponed to 2021. Five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand and Koneru Humpy were expected to lead the Indian contingent in the open and women’s categories respectively in the Olympiad.
